One of the things that I had to do was purchase and break a cigarette lighter for the actor. This was necessary I we could not have the actor actually having lit the cigarette as it would start violating health and safety precautions. It would also be an issue as our actor is a non smoker, and a teacher at the school which would therefore be violating the school rules as well. I watched many YouTube videos and did research on how to give the effect that the lighter is out of fuel but not broken, as to not make it too obvious to the audience. I had to detach the gas to the spark which then made the lighter only spark, creating a creative shot for us to work with.
