Pitch for Group Idea #2

DOWN BY THE RIVER - MILKY CHANCE

This is Milky Chance's music video of the song that we would like to use for our music video. This is Fran's idea and we decided that we liked the digipack and the website that she created for her idea, as they all tied in together very nicely.

For our performance element we will have a guy, looking grungy and indie, in the studio, singing straight out to the camera with no props. There will then be projections on his face of two young kids, a boy and a girl, building a relationship. This will establish who the singer is, for the audience, as well as having a connection to the story line. We will have to probably film the projections before the shoot day so that we can have it ready with the projector set up. Having him alone, will allow the audience to connect to the singer and draw more people in allowing him to establish his image further as a new artist. This idea will also work well with the conventions of the indie music as he is shown as very personal and intimate.

The second element is also in the studio, there will be a couple who are arguing as well as destroying doll's houses. They would do several different destructive thing to the doll house ie. throwing mud, vandalizing, pray painting, egging, throwing stones at it, hitting it with a hammer and finally throwing a cigarette on the house which will then make it set on fire. This would show the destruction of the relationship through the doll house. It would be edited however, backwards. Therefore the first thing the audience sees is the couple fighting as well as the house on fire, and as the music video goes on it progressively gets nicer and nicer, showing their relationship backwards.
