Meeting with Set Designer and Lighting Designer (23/10/15)

Set Designer
We spoke with the set designer, Jaqueline, for our studio element and we decided that we are going to have 2 different performance elements in the studio.

One of them will be the band performing the song with their instruments behind a black background. This will be used mostly to project onto the tents when we are shooting in the woods. The more simple, the easier it will be for the projections to come through as well as for the audience understand that it is a projection. The Set Designer mentioned that it might be a bit more simple, therefore i suggested that we could incorporate some leaves that fall from a dropbox which would be visually effectively as well as linking the woods element in with the studio/performance element.

The leaves would be similarly used as they have done in this video with feathers however there would not be as many leaves.

The second element will be the band performing the song with a white infinity background. Then we will also have projections of the girl in the city whilst they're performing.

Lighting Designer
We explained to Jack, the lighting designer, what we want to have as part of our performance element in the studio.

For the first element, with the background, the lighting designer said that due to its simplicity the lighting will be simple studio lighting. We will make sure the band members are properly lit so that they can be seen and identified properly.

For the second element, there is more lighting involved as we are trying three different things with the projections. We will be trying the projection sin the background with the band playing infront of the projections, as if its a screen.

We will also be trying the projections in the background however the band members will be silhouetted which will be interesting.

Our thrid projection idea that we will be trying out on the shoot day is to have the projections over the band so that we can see them playing but the projection is happening voer their face and bodys, we might even get the projections more forcused on just one of the band members' body. Like in the 1975's The City video.
